Two major announcements were made at Empower this year:

1. Laserfiche 11 is now available.
2. Laserfiche Cloud is coming to Europe this year.

Laserfiche 11 is now available

This new release includes a host of improvements designed to support your Digital Transformation plans.  Process automation is now a key goal of leading organisations and there are many improvements to help you do so more rapidly and effectively than ever.

In addition, the system has been re-architected to enable Cloud developments to be released more rapidly in self-hosted systems, plus to support hybrid Cloud architectures.  This is important given the exponential growth in adoption of Cloud solutions worldwide.  The updated architecture enables you to benefit from Cloud capabilities while retaining your on-premise system.  It also simplifies your migration path to Cloud if and when your organisation decides to adopt Cloud.  So while your organisation may not wish to adopt Cloud now, it gives you the peace of mind to know you have the ability to do so in future.

Main highlights include: 

• Direct Share: Share content securely with people outside the organization with password-protected links that can be tracked and audited centrally in Laserfiche. This will be the first out of several planned features that will allow self-hosted customers to take advantage of Laserfiche Cloud services through the new hybrid architecture.  
• More User-Friendly Form Designer: Design custom forms more easily than ever with a simplified drag-and-drop experience to put fields side-by-side, adjust field widths and more. 
• Edit In-Progress Process Variable Values: Keep processes running smoothly with the ability for an administrator to edit form variables during runtime, such as mistyped or missing field inputs.  
• Expanded Single Sign-On (SSO) Support: Improved log-in experience for Laserfiche desktop-based applications, such as Quick Fields, Scanning, Snapshot and Connector with support for SAML, AD FS and MFA authentication.  
• Repository User Experience Enhancements: More conveniently work across the web client with the ability to save searches, view recent searches and set custom filters in an updated search bar, print documents in a batch, and view thumbnail images of documents in the folder browser. 
• More Efficient PDF Page Generation: Generate image pages for PDFs using the distributed computing cluster (DCC) via Workflow to streamline high-volume capture workflows at scale. 
• Optimized Audit Trail Reporting: Increase audit trail performance by taking advantage of a rearchitected backend that no longer requires being tied to a SQL server. 

Laserfiche Cloud is coming to Europe this year

Laserfiche Cloud has been available in the USA and Canada for some time and has proved very popular with both new and existing Laserfiche users.  Therefore we at MBS are delighted that Laserfiche has confirmed that Laserfiche Cloud is coming to Europe and will be available for clients this year.  The operation will be based in Dublin and hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) within the European domain.  This will be important for organisations who have policies requiring information to be held in Europe.

MBS Engineers are already using Laserfiche Cloud so we will be able to answer your questions and support your move to Cloud, if and when you decide to do so.  We are working closely with Laserfiche and will provide you with more information with details of go-live dates and services later this year.

• Another!!! Solution Provider Run Smarter Award.  This award spotlights Solution Providers for ‘their vision and innovation in architecting and implementing ground breaking Laserfiche solutions’.
